even the millenial cg is almost comfy

I like the relatively unexplored, at least in the EU, potential for what different people were doing for long term plans, emp, vader, thrawn, etc.

Wrong thread. That cringe was already posted.

>a million man operation is too small to notice
That kind of gives you a sense of scale of the galaxy.

I just realized the kiddos all probably associate this music with sportsball.

So do people only remember the first and last 10% of this movie?
>>131379 #
Anonymous
>>131378 #
Yes, the middle of this movie is bleh. But Hoth and Cloud City are fantastic.
Anonymous
>>131380 #
Oh yeah, my version...I have to go back rewatch that part.
Anonymous
>>131383 #
that's what I mean, either there is a deeper reason, or he knows how his guys shoot once it starts (they're not as bad here)
Anonymous
The movie got better and Illya stopped complaining jej
>>131389 #
Anonymous
>>131389 #
Hoth is at least 40 minutes and cloud city is at least the last 30 minutes. The middle does suck.
Anonymous
>>131389 #
the asteroid scenes are comfy, and all the star destroyer bridge scenes are high kino.
Anonymous
That pirouette was dum.

I don't like that polynesians' voice dubbed

chewbacca is a noble savage from an honourable race
Anonymous
>>131397 #
yes it's dubbed, the original voice is like a flat low toughguy voice, it's pretty good.

IIRC the only theatrical original home video releases were on laserdisc or were there 80s VHS releases? I remember seeing it on laserdisc back in the day.

it's been a loooong time since i researched all of that, but i do know there was actually a fan version in the mid 2000s that kept all the original stuff and filtered the cgi crap and put it together in a widescreen release. don't think it was HD but still better than what we have today.
Anonymous
I just want to see the original theatrical cuts. I even think some of the CGI added are good like when the Death Star gets blown up in A New HOpe.

I never saw one in my life except where a school blew money on them.
Anonymous

at the time of their release yeah, now? no.

What was with the dialogue earlier that luke wasn't the only hope left. An EU reference?

my rich friend heart surgeon dad had a full basement theater/dark room with a laser disc projector. this was in 1997. was nuts.

Also, Empire takes place ove rthe course of several months.

wait wait wait, you say that like I have an attention span.

The environment here is very iconic. A good example of doing more with less since it's pretty light on detail.

this is giving me visions of my next life as a technician on a gas mining plant on Titan

At least Leia and Solo's actors are at least 1/2 - 3/4 white......

she's wrong for the role. watch The Burbs, she is much more alluring in that as she plays a housewife.

they have them, shields aren't something visual until later, maybe the prequels
Anonymous
imagine if they had done something ugly like old Dune's personal shields
>>131438 #

So did I. It would still look awful in this
Anonymous
I just realized they added things like ringed planets and stuff to satisfy the people who thought space was boring
Anonymous
>>131442 #
Strong opening, decent ending, mid middle. I think it would be better without the mascot characters (chewbacca and robots)

And so a new era of calling Illya a woman begins.

Thanks for watching anons. Return of the Jedi is next Sunday.

I don't like the falcon's exhaust design. It's like an ugly ceiling light.
