For anons who do not know, heart shots are very not reliable for immediately lethal hits. You need to go for the upper CNS for the most effective hits. Heart is lethal but not immediately so and they can still act for 15-30 seconds even if hit directly in the heart. The only immediatly lethal places for the heart are the aorta(size of a quarter at it's largest) and then the spine from the heart up to the brainsam and motor cortex. It's much easier to shoot them in the middle of the head at ears/eye/nose level.

It's fine but it's meant for use with rifles, not pistols. At least at it's origins. If you can just shoot in the head in the first place, it removes the need to shoot the chest. It requires a slightly higher level of marksmanship but no more than just shooting at the heart as they are both two balled fists sized targets but only one is immediately lethal.

Your mindset should be entirely going with upper CNS hits cause all other shots, even if not recoverable, are not immediately lethal and can lead to your death. Sometimes, even headshots require a follow up if it was deflected by bones or errantly did not penetrate enough or was a glancing hit instead of in the middle as sometimes happens.
