>The Thing at 3-3:30 PM EST?
>Yes or a bit later. Before 3:30 PM EST
Anonymous
There was a prequel made in 2011 I think.
Anonymous
This movie was deeply hated when it came out and only later became appreciated and a classic.

This movie opens with a UFO crashing into the Antarctica right?

I have that same cuisinart food processor and I think it's from 1981 too. I bought it at goodwill. jej

>Crazed Norwegians in a helicopter shoot at dog for some reason
>Guys at American Antarctic base shoot one of the Norwegians (the other accidentally explodes himself)
>The American base has been unable to contact anyone else in Antarctica
>They go to the Norwegian Antarctic base to see what's going on

>>138525 #
I don't think it's meant to be particularly subtle.
Anonymous
>>138524 #
No. I have seen this as a kid and it has reputation for being favorite series of soyjaks, so I was not particularly interested.
Anonymous
There is an interesting implication for the alien I will share later

Funny reference considering that book is bunk.

But it just needs to get to populated areas for it to be effectively impossible to stop.

Yes and in Big Trouble in Little China. The nigger is from They Live.
Anonymous
>>138562 #
Yeah, that makes sense. That movie was filmed on some of the streets I grew up on

>>138565 #
Yes. The world depicted in Escape from New York is an orderly and functional society that what exists there IRL right now.
>>138565 #
Anonymous
I didn't like Escape from NY tbh.
Anonymous
If we watch Escape from New York we have to watch the sequel, it's so entertaining.
>>138567 #
Anonymous
Is anyone up to watch Big Trouble in Little China today?
>>138570 #

>>138567 #
Yeah, Escape from L.A. and once you see it you see exactly where Kojimbo got his idea for Metal Gear Solid 2.

>gone crazy from a computer simulation

This movie was heavily influenced by Lovecraft. Blair going crazy like that is like Lovecraftian characters breaking from what they learn.

Clarke was a soyjak.

So the thing can build AyyFOs. It was his ship.

It assimilates the knowledge of the beings it infects/absorbs, presumably.
>It was his ship
No.
Anonymous
That was alright. It was obviously influential on resident evil 2 and dead space.

Technically the movie is a remake of a 1950s version which we could watch on movie night.
Anonymous
Illya, do you think Childs is a Thing at the end of the movie?
>>138618 #
Anonymous
>>138616 #
idk. Seeing niggers in the arctic is weird enough. He should be killed either way.
>>138621 #
Anonymous
Illya should watch it a few times until he appreciates it. I remember I didn't think much of Mad Max 1 until I saw it a few times. Rewatching something really can increase your appreciation of it.
Anonymous
I'm going back to the main thread.
