Yes. I try to mitigate this in the source code by minimizing and obfuscating retained user data like using salted hashes for poster IPs, but at the end of the day the feds can still fuck with us through compromising the datacenter to alter the source code or dump RAM to get the unhashed IPs plus the active salt. We don't use cloudflare here though, so that's a plus. You still need to protect yourself first through VPN/Tor use and making sure you have a secure DNS with no leaks.

Yes this is troublesome. I have good UX reasons for requiring JS to post and this is going to get more important in the future because of captcha hardening and other things, but Tor browser doesn't have a lot of protection against malicious JS in medium security mode on HTTPS sites. It basically just disables the JIT and WebGL. One thing though is that I'm not going to obfuscate or excessively minimize the JS source code, you'll always be able to read it clearly in the browser dev tools. It's not worth saving a few KB serving the JS client when it fucks up the source code by altering function and variable names, especially when I use that myself for debugging the live site.
